WETT Inspection or Chimney Sweep: Which Do You Need?

They sound similar, but they are different services.
A chimney sweep is a cleaning. We remove creosote and soot from your fireplace, stove, insert or chimney. For first-time customers, we begin with a basic ground-level check to decide if the system looks suitable to use and whether sweeping is needed. This check is not a WETT inspection and does not come with a written report.
A WETT inspection is a documented inspection of your wood-burning appliance and venting system. You may need one for an insurance requirement, a home purchase or sale, or any time you need paperwork.
